SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Nancy Schillerstrom of Naperville, who passed away on September 3, 2011; and

WHEREAS, She was born May 7, 1930 in Maywood; she grew up in Chicago's western suburbs and was a 1948 graduate of Hinsdale High School; and

WHEREAS, She was a homemaker for many years, and also worked at Argonne National Laboratory and later as office manager for the accounting firm of Schillerstrom & Kabza in Naperville; she was an early member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and a current member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church, both in Naperville; and

WHEREAS, She was active in Republican Party politics, serving as a precinct committeeman and election judge, both in Lisle and Naperville Townships; she was also a volunteer at Edward Hospital and was active in Naperville Little League and Pony League youth baseball; she loved dogs and cats and will be remembered by many for her role as a surrogate mother and confidante to her children's friends; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen C. Schillerstrom; her parents, LaVerne and Mabel Rowder; and her brother, Merl Crawford; and

WHEREAS, Nancy Schillerstrom was the loving mother of David (Marty), Robert "Bob" (MaryBeth), William "Bill", Martha (Jim) Nilles, John (Stacey), and Curt (Angela); the adored grandmother of Kevin, Erik, Corinne, Connor, Curtis, Katherine, Brittany, Nathan, Emily, Cassidy, Callan, Kelsy, Noa, Nicole, Tessa, Megan, and Alex; and the loving aunt of 5; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Nancy Schillerstrom; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Nancy Schillerstrom as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
