SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Emily Jean Hensley of Belleville,
4formerly of Cahokia, who passed away on June 10, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born on March 16, 1929 in Illmo, Missouri;
6she was a homemaker and a life-long member of Mount Calvary
7Lutheran Church in Cahokia; her family, friends, and her
8companion of 15 years, her dog Rascal, brought interminable
9light and joy into her life, and they will remember her for the
10special times they shared; she had a sweet and kind heart and a
11passion for animals; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Emily was preceded in death by the love of her
13life, her dear husband of 54 years, Harold Willis Hensley, whom
14she married as a teenager in 1946; her beloved daughter,
15Elizabeth "Libby" Sander; and her life-long best friends,
16Herman and Virginia Sander; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Emily Jean Hensley is survived by her cherished
18son, Mark Hensley and his wife, Lois; her son-in-law, Stan
19Sander; her grandchildren and their spouses, Robert (Anna)
20Sander, Amy (Chuck) Kelley, Mallory (Ryan) Duncan, and Michael
21Hensley; her great-grandchildren, Victoria Emily, Matthew, and
22Andrew Kelley, and Logan and Joshua Sander; her "adopted

1extended families," the families of Mark and Marsha Clatterbuck
2and Thomas and Patricia Hunter; her in-laws, Paul, Sandy, and
3Virginia Hensley; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends;
4therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
7her family and friends, the passing of Emily Jean Hensley; and
8be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Emily Jean Hensley as a symbol of
11our sincere sympathy.
