SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Louis J. McKenna of County Derry, Northern Ireland, who passed away on April 15, 2011; and

WHEREAS, He was born on October 3, 1922 in Swatragh, County Derry, Northern Ireland; he immigrated to the United States in 1953; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen T. (nee, Lakes); and his siblings, Albert, John, Joe, Vada, Theresa, Gerry, and Eddy; and

WHEREAS, Louis McKenna is survived by his children, Maureen (Thomas) O'Malley, Eileen, John (Kathleen), Thomas (Catherine), James (Susan), Daniel (Margaret), and Siobhan (Joseph) Sullivan; he was the cherished grandfather of Maureen (John) Cradick, Kathleen (John) Scaletta, James Kinsella, Patrick, Mary, Michael, and John O'Malley, Kelley, Jack, Molly, Colleen, Annie, Brian, Eileen, Bridget, Joseph, Matthew, and Sara McKenna, and Daniel Sullivan; he was the proud great-grandfather of Emily and Ryan Scaletta; he was the fond brother of Mary McKenna; he was the dear uncle of many; and he was a true friend to countless people; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Louis McKenna; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Louis McKenna as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
