SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Theron Martel "Touche'" Lykes of Chicago, who passed away on March 27, 2011; and

WHEREAS, He was born on June 23, 1963; he was baptized at St. Mels Catholic Church; and

WHEREAS, He attended Providence St. Mel in Chicago, Hillcrest High School in Country Club Hills, Bishop College in Dallas, Texas, and Prairie State Jr. College in Chicago Heights; and

WHEREAS, He was a gifted artist and actor; he did voice-overs, videos, commercials, television, and movie roles; he appeared in the movies Soul Food, Barbershop and Barbershop II, The Fugitive, Misled, and Let's Go to Prison; he also starred in the television series Prison Break; and

WHEREAS, He was also a talented craftsmen and salesman; he made one-of-a-kind jewelry designs and saw the beauty in everything; and

WHEREAS, Theron Lykes leaves no one to mourn, but everyone to celebrate; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Theron Lykes; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Theron Lykes as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
