SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Officer Michael Ray Bailey Sr., who passed away on July 18, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Officer Bailey was employed by the Chicago Police Department and served faithfully for over 2 decades; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago Police Department has retired Officer Bailey's star (#13970); and

WHEREAS, Officer Bailey was a proud member of the Chicago Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #7; and

WHEREAS, Officer Bailey had previously served as a fireman with the Glenview Fire Department and was a United States Air Force veteran; and

WHEREAS, Officer Bailey leaves behind his wife, his 3 daughters, his parents, and his 3 brothers and 2 sisters; and

WHEREAS, Officer Bailey dedicated and gave his life to protect and serve the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family, friends, and his Fraternal Order of Police brothers and sisters, the passing of Officer Michael Bailey; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Officer Michael Bailey as an expression of our sympathy.
