SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Mary Jane Rudd Rimbey, who passed away on November 29, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Mary Jane Rimbey was born on July 18, 1927, in Decatur; her parents were Alfred Clayton Sr. and Estella Jane Pollock Rudd; she married Hardin Lee Rimbey on November 28, 1948, in Jacksonville; and

WHEREAS, Mary Jane Rimbey was a graduate of Springfield High School and the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing; and

WHEREAS, Mary Jane Rimbey served as a registered nurse for 50 years before her retirement in 1997; during her career, she served as the Director of the Visiting Nurses Association of Morgan and Scott Counties; and

WHEREAS, Mary Jane Rimbey was a member of the Murrayville United Methodist Church and implemented the Parish Nurse program at the church; she was also a member of the Illinois Home Care Council; and

WHEREAS, Mary Jane Rimbey never lost interest in learning and kept her mind active by researching health interests on the Internet; she also enjoyed staying active on Facebook with her grandchildren, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, cooking and baking, and spending time with her family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Mary Jane Rimbey was preceded in death by her husband and her brother, Alfred Clayton Rudd Jr.; and

WHEREAS, Mary Jane Rimbey is survived by her daughters, Peggy (William) Zachary Jr. and Linda (Christopher) Wheal; her sons, Fred (Deborah) Rimbey and Cliff (Debbie) Rimbey; her grandchildren, Amy (Lance) Reynolds, Joshua Wheal, and Sarah (Joe) Hunt; her great-grandchildren, Stella and Zachary Reynolds; and her dear friends, Ellen Tarzwell, Nellie Tendick, Martha Joseph, and Totty Blimling; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Mary Jane Rimbey; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to the family of Mary Jane Rudd Rimbey as an expression of our sympathy.
