SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Kathleen A. "Kate" Eldred of Carlinville, who passed away on October 1, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Kathleen Eldred was born on January 17, 1937, to Ollie and Nellie Martin (nee Greenan) in Mount Olive; she graduated from Carlinville High School in 1954 and married Jon Eldred on January 16, 1960, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Carlinville; and

WHEREAS, Kathleen Eldred was a homemaker; she loved spending time with her grandchildren, golfing, shopping, walking, and reading; she was a member of Ss. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church in Carlinville; and

WHEREAS, Kathleen Eldred was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Nellie Martin; her brothers, Bud, Bill, John, and Jim Martin; and her sisters, Marian Greenan and Eileen Drew; and

WHEREAS, Kathleen Eldred is survived by her husband, Jon; her son, Andy Eldred; her daughter, Kim (Mark) Mehrkens; her grandchildren, Alex Eldred, Seth Mehrkens, and Madalyn Mehrkens; her brother, Dick (Sandy) Martin; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Kathleen Eldred, and we extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Kathleen Eldred as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
