SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

215 ILCS 5/356z.19 new

Amends the Illinois Insurance Code. Provides that individual and group policies of accident and health insurance or managed care plans amended, delivered, issued, or renewed after the effective date of the amendatory Act must provide coverage for maternity care.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning insurance.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by adding Section 356z.19 as follows:

(215 ILCS 5/356z.19 new)

Sec. 356z.19. Maternity care. An individual or group policy of accident and health insurance or managed care plan amended, delivered, issued, or renewed after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 97th General Assembly must provide coverage for maternity care.
