HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the St. Celestine 8th grade girls basketball team in Elmwood Park on having a perfect record of over 150 consecutive wins; the girls have played together since the 5th grade and continued their streak by winning the IESA Class 1A State championship on December 15, 2011; and

WHEREAS, The State championship was played at the Auburn Junior High School with the Lady Celtics from St. Celestine beating the team from Monroe Elementary School in Bartonville; and

WHEREAS, The principal of St. Celestine Catholic School is Jeanine Rocchi; the athletic director is Patrick Devitt; and the head coach of the Lady Celtics is John McKenna; and

WHEREAS, The Lady Celtics are: Judi Aldape, Kaitlin Aylward, Jennifer Carvajal, Desiree Diaz, Shannon Faherty, Emily McCarthy, Sarah McKee, Anne McKenna, Victoria Nega, and Elizabeth Ptack; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the St. Celestine 8th grade girls basketball team, the Lady Celtics, and wish them the best as they continue their winning ways; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Lady Celtics from St. Celestine Catholic School as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
