HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to honor Richard Lee Kraines for
4his long and distinguished career in medicine; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Kraines was born on March 14, 1939, in
6Chicago; his parents are Samuel and Ruth Kraines; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Richard Kraines was a graduate of the Lab High
8School at the University of Chicago; he subsequently earned his
9bachelor's degree from Oberlin College and his Doctor of
10Medicine degree from the University of Chicago in 1963; from
111963 to 1964, he participated in a rotating internship at the
12Illinois Research and Education Hospital; he then performed his
13residency in internal medicine at Michael Reese Hospital from
141964 to 1966 and his fellowship in hepatology at the New Jersey
15College of Medicine from 1966 to 1967; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Richard Kraines began his medical career in
17private practice in Highland Park, serving with Dr. Beryl
18Lovitz for 7 years; he then entered private practice by
19himself, serving at Highland Park Hospital for 35 years; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Richard Kraines served his country with pride and
21distinction as a member of the United States Army from 1967 to

11969; he was honorably discharged at the rank of major; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Richard Kraines and his loving wife, Carol
3Kraines, have 2 sons, Michael (Katherine) and Jeffery (Kelly),
4and 2 grandchildren, Tyler and Logan; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Kraines serves as a model of hard work,
6integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of
7Illinois; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
10we honor Richard Lee Kraines for his long and distinguished
11career in medicine, thank him for his dedication to his
12patients, and wish him continued success and happiness in the
13future; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to Richard Kraines as a symbol of our esteem and
16respect.
