HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The Hennessey River Oaks Ford dealership at 281 River Oaks Drive in Calumet City is closing after 45 years in business; and

WHEREAS, River Oaks Ford owner and president Joseph Hennessey opened the dealership in 1966; in that time, the dealership won the Ford's President's Award 5 times and the Partner in Quality award 17 times; and

WHEREAS, The Hennessey family told their employees of the closing in October of 2011 and immediately helped many of them find new employment; and

WHEREAS, Higher taxes, insurance rates, and many of the business' customers moving have all been factors in the decision to close the dealership; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to thank Hennessey River Oaks Ford for their many contributions to the community and to the local Calumet City economy over the years; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we thank the staff at Hennessey River Oaks Ford for their years of service and caring to the community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Joseph Hennessey as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
