HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Prete Apartments on the occasion of its 20th anniversary on November 18, 2011; and

WHEREAS, Prete Apartments is managed by the Elderly Housing Development and Operations Corporation (EHDOC); the complex is a low-income, senior housing facility located on the northwest side of Chicago in an area called North Park Village; and

WHEREAS, Prete Apartments opened in the spring of 1991 at the North Park Village site, with the sole intent of working with and caring for the senior citizens who reside there; and

WHEREAS, Prete Apartments is a HUD-subsidized 75-unit apartment building, where residents enjoy friendships, independence, and many convenient amenities; and

WHEREAS, Prete Apartments is surrounded by acres of lagoons, wetlands, prairie, oak savannah, and animal habitat; and

WHEREAS, Prete Apartments is an ethnically-diverse community dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and quality of care of low-income senior residents; and

WHEREAS, Prete Apartments has outstanding service coordinators that identify and partner with resources in the surrounding community to provide needed services; and

WHEREAS, Prete Apartments is considered to be one of the nicest senior citizen apartment buildings in the nation; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Prete Apartments on the occasion of its 20th anniversary and wish its residents and employees continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Prete Apartments as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
