HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Woodridge Park District on being awarded "Illinois Distinguished Accredited Agency" status by the Illinois Association of Park Districts and the Illinois Park and Recreation Association; and

WHEREAS, The Woodridge Park District Board of Park Commissioners and staff were officially recognized and presented with the award on January 28, 2011, at the Illinois Association of Park Districts and the Illinois Park and Recreation Association's Soaring to New Heights Conference in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Distinguished Park and Recreation Accreditation is the culmination of a comprehensive evaluation that reviews adherence to the best practices within the profession and compliance with Illinois laws governing park district administration; and

WHEREAS, Operational categories that are examined include general management, finance and business operations, facilities and parks, personnel, recreation services, and legal administration; and

WHEREAS, The Woodridge Park District was first awarded "Distinguished Agency" status in 1994; it has now become one of only 13 out of Illinois' 400 plus park districts to be a "Distinguished Accredited Agency"; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Woodridge Park District and its commissioners and staff on being awarded "Illinois Distinguished Accredited Agency" status, and we commend them for the excellence they have achieved; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mike Adams, Executive Director of the Woodridge Park District, as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
