HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Darius Anthony Brown, who passed away on August 3, 2011; and

WHEREAS, Darius Brown was born on February 27, 1998, in Chicago; he was the son of David Smith and Stephanie Brown; he was affectionately known as "Bay Bay"; and

WHEREAS, Darius Brown attended the Holy Angel Catholic School and Church; he was to begin the eighth grade in August of 2011; and

WHEREAS, Darius Brown was well known by his family and friends for his many gifts and talents, including his great basketball skills; he played basketball with the Holy Angels Basketball team, AAU Basketball, the Small Fry League, the Boys and Girls Club, Nothing But Net, the Illinois Rockets, and the Robert Taylor Panthers, among many others; he dreamed of playing on a professional basketball team and loved the Chicago Bulls; and

WHEREAS, Darius Brown received numerous trophies and awards for his outstanding performance and contribution to the game of basketball; and

WHEREAS, Darius Brown is survived by his loving parents; his sisters, Paris and Arrius; his brother, Devin; his grandparents, Walter (Lillie) Brown, Mary (Andy) Ellis, and Patricia Williams; his aunts, Alfreda (Philip) Brown Johnson, Teresa (Terrence) Taylor, and Candace Williams; his uncles, David (Vershawn) Brown, Reuben (Toniesha) Brown, Anthony Brown, and Jermaine Smith; his cousins, Philip II, Courtney, Rhoda, Shaun, Latrice, Ronald, Miisha, Chareale', Breya', and Demeco; his special sister; Ebonie Hendrix; and his many other family members and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Darius Anthony Brown; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Darius Brown as an expression of our sympathy.
