HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Kenneth Nelson on the occasion of his retirement after a long and distinguished career as the 1st Ward Alderman and Mayor of the City of Rolling Meadows; and

WHEREAS, In addition to holding elected office, Kenneth Nelson has over 25 years of community and municipal service in Rolling Meadows, serving on the Rolling Meadows Planning Commission and serving as the Chairman of the Rolling Meadows Economic Development Committee; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Nelson played an integral role on the Northwest Municipal Conference Sensible Growth Committee, as well as the Advisory Committee to the William Rainey Harper Journalism Department; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Nelson oversaw a city that continues to be known for its public services, including refuse collection, snow removal, and police and fire protection; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Nelson is a loving husband to his wife, Carol, and a loving father of three children; all are active in their church, where both Ken and Carol Nelson have served as deacons and elders; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Nelson has served as a model of hard work, integrity, dedication, and success for the people of the City of Rolling Meadows and the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Kenneth Nelson on the occasion of his retirement and wish him many happy and healthy retirement years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Kenneth Nelson as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
