HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the owners of Rip's Chicken in Ladd on the occasion of winning a Midwest Living Magazine top restaurant award at the Illinois Governors Conference on Tourism in Rosemont; and

WHEREAS, Rip's Chicken is a mom and pop casual dining restaurant and bar in Ladd; it was founded by Silvio "Rip" Gualandri in 1936; Rip's specializes in fried chicken and provides a recognizably unique atmosphere to their customers, which includes its informal menu and casual setting; and

WHEREAS, Rip's Chicken received their original mention in the fall 2010 edition of Midwest Living Magazine, which publishes over 3,000 "bests"; Rip's was chosen from 860 restaurants throughout the Midwest to receive this prestigious award; and

WHEREAS, The owners of Rip's Chicken will receive the award during a presentation ceremony on May 11, 2011 at Rip's; and

WHEREAS, The owners and employees of Rip's Chicken serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the owners of Rip's Chicken on the occasion of winning a Midwest Living Magazine top restaurant award and wish them continued success in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Bill and Dave Rounds, owners of Rip's Chicken, as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
