HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Leo Fronza on the occasion of his retirement as Chief Executive Officer of Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare; and

WHEREAS, Leo Fronza grew up in a small coal mining town in eastern Pennsylvania; aided by strong family support and a strong work ethic, he was the first member of his family to graduate from college; he earned his bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania State University and his master's degree from George Washington University; and

WHEREAS, Leo Fronza served his country with pride and distinction as a member of the United States Armed Forces, which included a tour in Vietnam; and

WHEREAS, Leo Fronza has been in healthcare administration since 1972 and has been at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital since 1978; he was appointed to serve as President and Chief Executive Officer of Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare in 1992; he has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare since its inception in June of 1995; and

WHEREAS, Leo Fronza is a member of the Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare Board of Trustees, the Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees, and the Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Foundation; he also represents the healthcare system on the Board of ELMCARE, the physician-hospital organization; and

WHEREAS, Leo Fronza serves as a model of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Leo Fronza on the occasion of his retirement and wish him many happy and healthy retirement years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Leo Fronza as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
