HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Kevin McLean, a science teacher at Lakes Community High School in Lake Villa, on the occasion of winning the Ron Mardigan Memorial Biotechnology Explorer Award; and

WHEREAS, The Ron Mardigan Memorial Biotechnology Explorer Award is presented by the National Science Teachers Association, or NSTA; NSTA gives out annual NSTA Teacher Awards to honor deserving K-12 teachers, principals, professors, and other science education professionals for their outstanding work and achievement in science education; and

WHEREAS, The award acknowledges the efforts that Kevin McLean makes to integrate biotechnology instruction into the biology and AP biology classes he teaches at Lakes Community High School; he will also be honored with $500 in Bio-Rad equipment for his department; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Kevin McLean on the occasion of winning the Ron Mardigan Memorial Biotechnology Explorer Award and wish him continued success in his career as an educator; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Kevin McLean as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
