HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Mary Alice D'Arcy on her retirement as President and CEO of Easter Seals DuPage and the Fox Valley Region; and

WHEREAS, For 30 years, Mary Alice D'Arcy has helped create an incredible culture of caring and philanthropy for Easter Seals; she began as a social worker in "the little red school house" on Park Boulevard in Villa Park, and has continued to work with children and their families, helping them become all that they can be; and

WHEREAS, As the Program Director, and for the last 15 years as the President and CEO of Easter Seals DuPage and the Fox Valley Region, she has nurtured and developed Easter Seals into one of the largest and most highly regarded pediatric outpatient rehabilitation centers in the nation; she has earned the respect of her staff, board of directors, and colleagues for her integrity and her drive to provide the best, most family-friendly and cutting-edge therapies for the thousands of children who have come to Easter Seals over the years; and

WHEREAS, She has been a tireless advocate for quality and the advancement of pediatric disability services; those who have had the pleasure of working with her have experienced her kindness, friendship, purposefulness, persistence, and grace; and

WHEREAS, Her time with Easter Seals includes serving as Director of Social Services from 1981 to 1983, Program Director from 1983 to 1990, Director of Ancillary Services from 1990 to March of 1995, Manager of Family Support Services from March of 1995 to November of 1995, and as President and Chief Executive Officer from November of 1995 to her retirement; and

WHEREAS, She will continue with Easter Seals as a volunteer in government affairs; she and her husband, both Chicago Cubs fans, plan on attending the team's spring training camp in Arizona for a week; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Mary Alice D'Arcy on her retirement and wish her continued success in all her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mary Alice D'Arcy as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
