HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Greg Muller on the occasion of his retirement as First Deputy Director with the Illinois State Police on December 31, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Greg Muller began his career with the Illinois State Police on April 13, 1987, when he was appointed to Cadet Class #81; upon his graduation on August 14, 1987, he was assigned to District 9 in Springfield; on June 16, 1996, he transferred from District 9 to the Division of Administration's Logistics Bureau; and

WHEREAS, Greg Muller steadily ascended the ranks of the Illinois State Police throughout his career; on November 16, 1996, he was promoted from trooper to sergeant; on March 20, 1998, he was promoted to the rank of master sergeant; on October 1, 2002, he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant; on September 1, 2006, he was promoted to the rank of captain; on January 1, 2007, he was appointed to the position of Deputy Director of the Division of Administration; on May 6, 2011, he was appointed to the position of Colonel of the Division of Internal Investigation; on January 1, 2012, he was appointed as the First Deputy Director by ISP Director Hiram Grau; and

WHEREAS, Greg Muller serves his community as a member of the Athens Community Unit School District #213 School Board and will serve as president of the school board in 2013; and

WHEREAS, Greg Muller and his wife, Dawn, have one son, Grant (Erin), and 2 daughters, Courtney and Haley; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Greg Muller on the occasion of his retirement and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Greg Muller as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
