HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to honor our esteemed colleague Charles W. "Chuck" Krezwick for his service as a member of the Illinois General Assembly and thank him for answering the call of his community, his State, and his nation; and

WHEREAS, Representative Krezwick was born in Chicago and raised in the south suburbs, where he and his wife, Marilyn, raised their two sons; and

WHEREAS, Representative Krezwick was called to duty as a member of the U.S. Air Force from 1965 until 1969, and has remained involved in veterans' affairs and aviation as a member of American Legion Orland Memorial Post 111, the Air Force Association, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and the Experimental Aircraft Association; and

WHEREAS, Representative Krezwick served his community as a Calumet Park village trustee from 1973 until 1977, and as acting mayor of Calumet Park from 1979 until 1981; and

WHEREAS, Representative Krezwick helped to make the voice of his community heard in the federal government as a legislative aide to two U.S. Congressmen; and

WHEREAS, Representative Krezwick continued his efforts to ensure local residents access to government services as director of senior services for Calumet Township; and

WHEREAS, Representative Krezwick demonstrated his commitment to education by serving his community as a substitute teacher; and

WHEREAS, Representative Krezwick answered the call to service again in 2012, filling a vacancy in the Illinois House of Representatives and ensuring that local constituents continued to receive the services and representation they deserve; and

WHEREAS, Representative Krezwick passed a law recognizing his fellow veterans by creating license plate stickers for veterans, the proceeds of which will go to charity; and

WHEREAS, Representative Krezwick's military service and personal enthusiasm for amateur radio instilled in him the importance of citizen-operated radio as a means of ensuring public health and safety during an emergency; in the Illinois House of Representatives, he passed a law that helps to ensure the availability of amateur radio; and

WHEREAS, All those who have had the opportunity to serve alongside Representative Krezwick appreciate his friendship and commitment to his community, his State, and his nation; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate and thank State Representative Charles W. "Chuck" Krezwick for his dedicated service; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Representative Krezwick as an expression of our respect and esteem, with our best wishes for his future success.
