HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Chief Jim Saletta on his retirement from the Huntley Fire Protection District; and

WHEREAS, Chief Saletta has been in the fire service for 36 years; he started his career in 1976, with the Pingree Grove Pine Protection District; in 1979, Chief Saletta became a career firefighter with the Elgin Fire Department, where he spent 21 years and was named deputy chief; after a short retirement from Elgin, he was appointed in 2001, as fire chief with the Huntley Fire Protection District; and

WHEREAS, Chief Saletta has not only been a tremendous asset to the Huntley Fire Department but to several area organizations as well; he was named president of McHenry County Fire Chiefs Association, vice-president of MABAS division 5, a member of the 911 board, the ETSB board, the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association, and is currently president of one of the most influential organizations involved in the safety of Illinois citizens, the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance, known for Camp I Am Me, a camp for child burn victims; and

WHEREAS, Chief Saletta has been very active within the community and much respected throughout the State; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Chief Jim Saletta on his outstanding career and much deserved retirement; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Chief Jim Saletta as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
