HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Western DuPage Special Recreation Association (WDSRA) Windy City Warriors for winning the 2012 IHSA Wheelchair Basketball Championship Tournament and for their 8th place finish at the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) Championship Tournament; and

WHEREAS, The WDSRA Windy City Warriors is a team comprised of players from around Chicago's western suburbs; the team is sponsored by the Western DuPage Special Recreation Association; and

WHEREAS, After dominating the 2012 IHSA Wheelchair Basketball Championship Tournament with a 6-0 record, the Windy City Warriors traveled to Colorado Springs, Colorado to compete in the varsity bracket of the national tournament on March 22-24, 2012; facing some of the best teams in the nation, the team placed 8th overall out of 32 teams; and

WHEREAS, The Windy City Warriors have won an unprecedented 7 State championships, having won the State title in the 2002-2003, 2005-2006, 2006-2007, 2008-2009, 2009-2010, 2010-2011, and 2011-2012 seasons; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Windy City Warriors are Amy Chapman, Blake Harmet, Justin Harrison, Matt Molenkamp, Chris Murphy, Jonathan Ruiz, Nick Umek, Douglas Davison, Erik Todd, Kyle Gribble, Mary Kate Callahan, Jessica Lindsay, Kyle Picchetti, and Dan Dye; the team's coaches are Kevin Hosea and William Johnson; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Windy City Warriors serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Western DuPage Special Recreation Association (WDSRA) Windy City Warriors for winning the 2012 IHSA Wheelchair Basketball Championship Tournament and their wonderful performance at the NWBA Championship Tournament and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the WDSRA Windy City Warriors as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
