HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The Dolton Park District was established in 1927 as a local civic organization to encourage and make a difference in the Dolton community through programming and community activities; and

WHEREAS, The Dolton Park District takes an active interest in improving the general welfare and making a positive difference in the quality of life for all Dolton residents; and

WHEREAS, The Dolton Park District promotes regional recreation with other communities throughout the Southland by creating a shared regional identity and providing a common link of interest and support; and

WHEREAS, Over the years, the Dolton Park District has collaborated with local government, school districts, businesses, and social service agencies to initiate a myriad of programs and neighborhood events that contribute to a strong and sustainable community; and

WHEREAS, For the past 85 years, the Dolton Park District and its leadership have been influential in transforming the lives of the village of Dolton and continue to be a forward-thinking community entity; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the employees and administration of the Dolton Park District as they commemorate 85 years of service to the residents of Dolton; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Dolton Park District as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
