SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

705 ILCS 405/1-16.5 new

Amends the Juvenile Court Act of 1987. Provides that in any court proceeding instituted under the Act that may result in a change of custody, the court shall ensure that any position of and testimony from the Department of Children and Family Services in reference to the change in custody is included in the court record. Effective immediately.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning courts.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Juvenile Court Act of 1987 is amended by adding Section 1-16.5 as follows:

(705 ILCS 405/1-16.5 new)

Sec. 1-16.5. Custody matters involving the position of and testimony from the Department of Children and Family Services. In any court proceeding instituted under this Act that may result in a change of custody, the court shall ensure that any position of and testimony from the Department of Children and Family Services in reference to the change in custody is included in the court record.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
