| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of United States Marine Corps Staff Sergeant | 4 | | Christopher J. Antonik, of San Clemente, California, formerly | 5 | | of Crystal Lake, who was killed in the line of duty in Helmand | 6 | | Province, Afghanistan, on July 11, 2010; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Christopher J. Antonik was born May 4, 1981, in | 8 | | Chicago, to John and Cindy Antonik; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, He was united in marriage to Erin Gilbert on | 10 | | December 12, 2009; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, For more than nine years, he proudly served the | 12 | | nation as a member of the United States Marine Corps; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his paternal | 14 | | grandfather, Alex Antonik; and his maternal grandparents, Mr. | 15 | | and Mrs. Charlie Shaw; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, United States Marine Corps Staff Sergeant | 17 | | Christopher J. Antonik is survived by his beloved wife, Erin | 18 | | Antonik; his devoted parents, John and Cindy Antonik; his dear | 19 | | sister, Jen (Ken) Bond; his adoring nieces and nephews, Kylie | 20 | | and Xander Bond and Jack and Alexa Farmer; his cherished |

| 3 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | 4 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 5 | | his family, friends, and a grateful nation, the passing of | 6 | | Staff Sergeant Christopher Antonik; and be it further
| 7 | | RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Staff Sergeant | 8 | | Christopher J. Antonik and his willingness to serve his | 9 | | country, which led to him making the ultimate sacrifice; and be | 10 | | it further | 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of Staff Sergeant Christopher J. | 13 | | Antonik as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
