SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Joseph E. "Jody" Trover Sr. of Belleville, who passed away on April 28, 2010; and

WHEREAS, He began his career at the age of 13 as a caddy at St. Louis Country Club; there he discovered his love of golf; in 1962, he went to work for a new sandwich business and married Jeanette the following year; he went on to pursue his dreams, a family, a business, sitting on boards, and being involved in the church and the community; and

WHEREAS, He still found time for golf, hunting, fishing, and friends or a stranger; and

WHEREAS, He bought Landshire Incorporated, the company known for distributing sandwiches, in 1966; he also operated Yorktown Golf Course in Shiloh and Practice T in Fairview Heights; he was also involved with Head Start in East St. Louis; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Trover; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Trover Sr. is survived by his mother, Mildred; his wife, Jeanette; their four children and their loving partners; his 13 grandchildren; his sister and brother; his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, as well as many dear nieces, nephews, family, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Joseph Trover Sr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joseph Trover Sr. as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
