SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Beverly J. (Ritta) Johnson of Zion, who passed away on January 6, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Beverly Johnson was born on July 8, 1931 in Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, Beverly Johnson met her late husband, Charles Johnson, while working at Johnson Motors in Waukegan and they were married in 1964; she was also a former volunteer for Victory Memorial Hospital; and

WHEREAS, Beverly Johnson attended Christ Community Church in Zion; she enjoyed camping in the outdoors, and enjoyed traveling, cooking, and crocheting; and

WHEREAS, Beverly Johnson was preceded in death by her husband; her brothers, Jack and Don Ritta; her sister, Edith Cashmore; and her mother and father; and

WHEREAS, Beverly Johnson is survived by her children, Terry (Janice) Johnson, James (Marsha) Johnson, Thomas Johnson, Randall (Debra) Johnson, and Kimberly (Waymon) Vela; her 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; her sister, Loverne Neish Nitzel; and her numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Beverly J. (Ritta) Johnson; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Beverly Johnson as an expression of our sympathy.
