SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Bill Hamrick Jr. of Augusta, who passed away on February 2, 2010; and

WHEREAS, He was born on February 13, 1927 in Dallas City, to William Lester Sr. and Mercedes (Horner) Hamrick; he was a graduate of Fort Madison, Iowa, high school; he married Barbara De Jaynes on September 5, 1955 in Augusta; and

WHEREAS, He was a plumber and steamfitter with Steamfitters Local 353 in Peoria; he was a member of 1st Baptist Church in Colchester and a member of Augusta V.F.W. Post #9029; and

WHEREAS, He served as a Democratic precinct committeeman for many years and as a Boy Scout leader; he was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents and his niece, Patricia Gillett; and

WHEREAS, Bill Hamrick Jr. is survived by his wife, Barbara; his sons, Bill Hamrick III (Deborah) and Craig Hamrick (Brenda); his granddaughters, Rebecca, Emily, and Tiffany Hamrick; his sister, Betty (Conrad) Gillett; his step-brother, Earl (Della) Lofton; his cousin, Erma June Sanderson; his nephew, Keith Gillett; and his beloved granddog, Molly; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Bill Hamrick Jr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bill Hamrick Jr. as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
