SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William A. Crossen III of Joliet, who passed away on January 19, 2010; and

WHEREAS, William Crossen III was born on July 24, 1945, in Joliet; he was a lifelong resident of Joliet; and

WHEREAS, William Crossen III graduated from Joliet Catholic High School in 1963; he received his bachelor's degree from Lewis University in 1968 and his M.B.A. from DePaul University; and

WHEREAS, William Crossen III was a part-owner and was employed by R.S. Blunt and Company from 1963 until his passing; he was also formerly employed by St. Joseph Catholic Grade School in Joliet as a teacher and principal; and

WHEREAS, William Crossen III was a member of the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus, where he was a past board member; he was also a past member of the Joliet Catholic High School Advisory Board and the Parent Board of Joliet Catholic Academy; and

WHEREAS, William Crossen III was a part of the Thursday meeting group of his grade school and high school peers; he was very active with Tuesday Night basketball at First Presbyterian Church and his weekend golf group; he was also an avid sports enthusiast, a golfer, and a Chicago Bears season ticket holder; and

WHEREAS, William Crossen III was preceded in death by his father, William A. Crossen II, and father and mother-in-law, Dominic T. and Dorothy (Pappas) Paone; and

WHEREAS, William Crossen III is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Donna (Paone) Crossen; his son, William Crossen IV; his mother, Audrey (Lindberg) Crossen; his siblings, John Crossen, Joanne (Michael) Hayes, and Jane (Damon) Rinard; and his very special sister, Mary Crossen; he was the brother-in-law of Dominic Paone and Diane (Bob) Remley; the dear uncle of John "Jack" (Jane) Crossen, Jennifer (Rob) Garza, Jeff Hayes, Michael (Carleen) Paone, and Brian Paone; and the great uncle of Skylar and Callie Garza and Brandon Michael Paone; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of William A. Crossen III; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of William Crossen III as an expression of our sympathy.
