SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Mary T. Oglesby of Gurnee, who passed away on November 5, 2009; and

WHEREAS, She was born on July 23, 1927 in Lake Forest, and married Verdun "Bud" Oglesby on September 11, 1948 at St. Mary's Church in Lake Forest; and

WHEREAS, She retired from Ticor Title Company in 1994 as a title searcher; she was a member of St. Dismas Church, St. Dismas Women's Club, the Catholic Women's Club, AARP, the Ambassador Club, and a former member of the American Business Women of America; she was also a former volunteer at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in North Chicago, Victory Memorial Hospital, and Star Hospice at Provena St. Therese Medical Center; and

WHEREAS, She enjoyed playing cards and loved to do cross stitching; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband; and

WHEREAS, She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Martin) Paulson; her son, Mark (Maureen); her grandchildren, Matthew, Kevin, Kaitlin, Elise, Kevin, and Jennifer; her great-grandchildren, Paige, Brock, Brittany, Ryan, Dustin, and Jake; and her brother, James Monahan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Mary Oglesby; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mary Oglesby as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
