SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, State Senator Iris Y. Martinez and the members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Graciela J. Juarez of Springfield, who passed away on December 2, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Graciela Juarez was born on October 1, 1931, in Lima, Peru; she was the daughter of Alberto and Angelica Espinoza Alzamora; she married Oswaldo Juarez in 1946; and

WHEREAS, Graciela Juarez was employed in the Peruvian public school district for 36 years; after retirement, she and her husband came to the United States to be near her family; and

WHEREAS, Graciela Juarez was a member of the Central Illinois Chapter of National Image Inc. and the St. Katherine Drexel Parish in Springfield; and

WHEREAS, Graciela Juarez was preceded in death by her husband, Oswaldo; her son, Nicolas; her daughter, Maria Juarez; her brothers, Luis, Rafael, and Cesar; and her parents; and

WHEREAS, Graciela Juarez is survived by her sons, Victor (wife, Daisy) Juarez, Daniel (wife, Suzanne Brown) Juarez, and Manuel (wife, Leia Ambra) Juarez; her daughters: Rosa Juarez and Clara Juarez; her 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Dr. Nicolas (wife, Teresa) Alzamora, Guillermo (wife, Maria) Alzamora, and Luis (wife, Olga) Alzamora; her sisters, Carmen Delgado, Rosa Alzamora (husband, Raul) Rosadio, and Delia (husband, Ricardo) Ramirez; and her many nieces, nephews, and in-laws; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Graciela J. Juarez; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Graciela Juarez as an expression of our sympathy.
