SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Donald Eugene Ott, who passed away on November 28, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Donald Ott was born on November 11, 1922, in Alton; he was the son of the late Wallace G. and Mary (Schlimm) Ott; he married the former Helen Campbell on July 28, 1946, in Wood River; and

WHEREAS, Donald Ott was employed as a watchmaker and jeweler at Don Ott Jewelers for 40 years; and

WHEREAS, Donald Ott was a member of the St. John United Church of Christ in Wood River, the Wood River Lions Club, the Wood River Masonic Lodge 1062, and the Watch Makers Association; he was also a past president of the Illinois Jewelers Association; and

WHEREAS, Donald Ott was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; his parents; and his brothers, Jerry, Gordon, Wallace, and Corky Ott; and

WHEREAS, Donald Ott is survived by his daughters and their husbands, Judy and Jim Crowder and Robin and Larry Fultz; his son and his wife, Donald L. and Betty Ott; his grandchildren, Scott Crowder, Jamie Ott, Kori Baron, Chris Ott, Jake and Ike Sullivan, Monica Payne, and Jason Cooper; his great-grandchildren, Dylann, Adam, Haley, Kaelan, Izaac, Adalyn, Tyler, Alyssa, Katie, and Lauren; his special friend, Katherine Sparks; his special brother-in-law, John Kock; and his special cousin, Mary Keirl; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Donald Eugene Ott; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Donald Ott as an expression of our sympathy.
