SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Donald Eugene Ott, who passed away on
4 November 28, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Donald Ott was born on November 11, 1922, in
6 Alton; he was the son of the late Wallace G. and Mary (Schlimm)
7 Ott; he married the former Helen Campbell on July 28, 1946, in
8 Wood River; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Donald Ott was employed as a watchmaker and
10 jeweler at Don Ott Jewelers for 40 years; and
 
11     WHEREAS, Donald Ott was a member of the St. John United
12 Church of Christ in Wood River, the Wood River Lions Club, the
13 Wood River Masonic Lodge 1062, and the Watch Makers
14 Association; he was also a past president of the Illinois
15 Jewelers Association; and
 
16     WHEREAS, Donald Ott was preceded in death by his wife,
17 Helen; his parents; and his brothers, Jerry, Gordon, Wallace,
18 and Corky Ott; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Donald Ott is survived by his daughters and their
20 husbands, Judy and Jim Crowder and Robin and Larry Fultz; his

1 son and his wife, Donald L. and Betty Ott; his grandchildren,
2 Scott Crowder, Jamie Ott, Kori Baron, Chris Ott, Jake and Ike
3 Sullivan, Monica Payne, and Jason Cooper; his
4 great-grandchildren, Dylann, Adam, Haley, Kaelan, Izaac,
5 Adalyn, Tyler, Alyssa, Katie, and Lauren; his special friend,
6 Katherine Sparks; his special brother-in-law, John Kock; and
7 his special cousin, Mary Keirl; therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
9 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10 his family and friends, the passing of Donald Eugene Ott; and
11 be it further
 
12     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13 presented to the family of Donald Ott as an expression of our
14 sympathy.
