SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Kathleen M. Rain, who passed away on
4 November 26, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Kathleen Rain was born April 19, 1950, in Peoria;
6 her parents were Robert and Elizabeth "Pat" Crammond; she
7 married John C. Rain Jr. on May 28, 1977, in Alton; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Kathleen Rain graduated from Marquette Catholic
9 High School in 1968; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Kathleen Rain was a volunteer for the Homebound
11 Program at the Hayner Public Library and Caravan; she served as
12 a deacon and an elder at College Avenue Presbyterian Church and
13 as a Stephen Minister; she was also a participant in 2 Bible
14 study groups; and
 
15     WHEREAS, Kathleen Rain enjoyed traveling, being outside,
16 and working in her gardens; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Kathleen Rain was preceded in death by her father,
18 Robert Crammond, and her nephew, Timothy Crammond; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Kathleen Rain is survived by her husband, John;

1 her mother, Pat Crammond; her daughter and son-in-law, Rachel
2 and Nick Catanzaro; her son, John C. Rain III; her
3 grandchildren, Benjamin and Noah Catanzaro; her brothers and
4 sisters-in-law, Tom and Jan Crammond, Randy and Lynn Crammond,
5 and Mark and Barb Crammond; her sisters and brothers-in-law,
6 Laurie and Ron Fitzwater and Jennifer M. and Rick Gentry; her
7 brother-in-law, Dan Rain; her nephews, Christopher Crammond,
8 Michael Crammond, Joey Fitzwater, and Austin Gentry; her
9 nieces, Jennifer A. Gentry, Sara Crammond, Ann Pulido and her
10 husband, Alex, Samantha Foster and her husband, Tim, and Alexa
11 Gentry; her great-niece, Mikaela Foster; and her father-in-law
12 and mother-in-law, Jack and Betty Rain; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Kathleen Rain will be remembered by all who knew
14 and loved her as a caring and compassionate person who always
15 had time to help others who were going through difficult times
16 of their own; therefore, be it
 
17     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
18 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
19 her family and friends, the passing of Kathleen M. Rain; and be
20 it further
 
21     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22 presented to the family of Kathleen Rain as an expression of
23 our sympathy.
