SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Daniel Wade Brown of Granite City, who
4 passed away on August 29, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Daniel Brown was born on April 26, 1939 in St.
6 Louis, Missouri; he was a graduate of C.B.C., Washington
7 University, and University of Missouri - St. Louis and had
8 received numerous law degrees, mediation degrees, journalism
9 degrees, and teaching degrees; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Daniel Brown served his country with pride and
11 distinction as a member of the United States Army Reserves; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Daniel Brown was employed with Coldwell Banker -
13 Brown Agency in Edwardsville as a commercial real estate agent;
14 he served as economic development director and as 4th Ward
15 Alderman in Granite City; he served as vice president of Van
16 Arch and Associates; he was a past president and founder of the
17 Granite City Ambassadors and a past president and assistant
18 district governor of the Rotary Club; he was the chairman of
19 the Rotary Community Action Prayer Breakfast for 14 years and a
20 member of the Granite City Masonic Triple Lodge 835 and Ainad
21 Shrine; he also served as a private practice attorney; and

1     WHEREAS, Following his retirement, Daniel Brown enjoyed
2 his time helping the Chamber of Commerce of Southwestern
3 Madison County with the Children's Christmas Party and
4 Leadership Program; he also served as the chairman of the
5 chamber's golf tournament; he also enjoyed playing golf and
6 reading and will be remembered for the love of his family,
7 friends, and community; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Daniel Brown was preceded in death by his parents,
9 Emmett and Mercedes, nee Wiethaupt, Brown; his father-in-law,
10 Joseph Perigan; and his sister-in-law, JoAnn Jones; and
 
11     WHEREAS, Daniel Brown is survived by his wife, Rosemarie,
12 nee Perigan, Brown, whom he married on November 23, 1983 in St.
13 Louis, Missouri; his brother, James Brown; his mother-in-law
14 and step father-in-law, Marie and Julian "Duke" Lisson; his
15 brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law, Joe and Sherry Perigan,
16 Randy and Sherrie Lisson, Carolyn and Bill Mayer, Toby Neely,
17 and Donald Jones; and his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces,
18 great-nephews, other extended family members, and friends;
19 therefore, be it
 
20     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
21 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
22 his family and friends, the passing of Daniel Wade Brown; and
23 be it further

1     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to the family of Daniel Brown as an expression of our
3 sympathy.
