1     AN ACT concerning financial regulation.

2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:

4     Section 5. The University of Illinois Act is amended by
5 changing Section 30 as follows:

6     (110 ILCS 305/30)
7     Sec. 30. Provision of student and social security
8 information prohibited.
9     (a) The University, including its agents, employees,
10 student or alumni organizations, or any affiliates, may not
11 provide a student's name, address, telephone number, social
12 security number, e-mail address, or other personal identifying
13 information to a business organization or financial
14 institution that issues credit or debit cards, unless the
15 student is 21 years of age or older. This prohibition does not
16 apply to service providers of the University that (i) assist
17 the University in the electronic disbursement of refunds,
18 including, but not limited to, financial aid refunds, and (ii)
19 do not provide loan or credit services.
20     (b) The University may not print an individual's social
21 security number on any card or other document required for the
22 individual to access products or services provided by the
23 University.

2     Section 10. The Southern Illinois University Management
3 Act is amended by changing Section 16 as follows:

4     (110 ILCS 520/16)
5     Sec. 16. Provision of student and social security
6 information prohibited.
7     (a) The University, including its agents, employees,
8 student or alumni organizations, or any affiliates, may not
9 provide a student's name, address, telephone number, social
10 security number, e-mail address, or other personal identifying
11 information to a business organization or financial
12 institution that issues credit or debit cards, unless the
13 student is 21 years of age or older. This prohibition does not
14 apply to service providers of the University that (i) assist
15 the University in the electronic disbursement of refunds,
16 including, but not limited to, financial aid refunds, and (ii)
17 do not provide loan or credit services.
18     (b) The University may not print an individual's social
19 security number on any card or other document required for the
20 individual to access products or services provided by the
21 University.

23     Section 15. The Chicago State University Law is amended by

21 student is 21 years of age or older. This prohibition does not
22 apply to service providers of the University that (i) assist
23 the University in the electronic disbursement of refunds,
24 including, but not limited to, financial aid refunds, and (ii)

7     Section 45. The Western Illinois University Law is amended
8 by changing Section 35-130 as follows:

10     Sec. 35-130. Provision of student and social security
11 information prohibited.
12     (a) The University, including its agents, employees,
13 student or alumni organizations, or any affiliates, may not
14 provide a student's name, address, telephone number, social
15 security number, e-mail address, or other personal identifying
16 information to a business organization or financial
17 institution that issues credit or debit cards, unless the
18 student is 21 years of age or older. This prohibition does not
19 apply to service providers of the University that (i) assist
20 the University in the electronic disbursement of refunds,
21 including, but not limited to, financial aid refunds, and (ii)
22 do not provide loan or credit services.
23     (b) The University may not print an individual's social

4     Section 50. The Public Community College Act is amended by
5 changing Section 3-60 as follows:

6     (110 ILCS 805/3-60)
7     Sec. 3-60. Provision of student and social security
8 information prohibited.
9     (a) A community college, including its agents, employees,
10 student or alumni organizations, or any affiliates, may not
11 provide a student's name, address, telephone number, social
12 security number, e-mail address, or other personal identifying
13 information to a business organization or financial
14 institution that issues credit or debit cards, unless the
15 student is 21 years of age or older. This prohibition does not
16 apply to service providers of the community college that (i)
17 assist the community college in the electronic disbursement of
18 refunds, including, but not limited to, financial aid refunds,
19 and (ii) do not provide loan or credit services.
20     (b) A community college may not print an individual's
21 social security number on any card or other document required
22 for the individual to access products or services provided by
23 the community college.

1     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
2 becoming law.
