HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Jacob Pugh of Chicago, who passed away on February 16, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Jacob Pugh was born February 1, 1936 in Grand Junction, Tennessee; he was the son of Coy and Lucille Pugh; and

WHEREAS, Jacob was educated in the Tennessee school system and later relocated to Chicago; he served his country as a member of the United States Army; after his honorable discharge from the armed services, Jacob worked at International Harvester; following his Harvester employment, Jacob was employed at his brother-in-law Emmit Petty's Accounting and Tax Service for 18 years; and

WHEREAS, Jacob was a quick study and learned the ins and outs of the tax business; he started his own independent tax service and worked at it until his health failed; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, Coy and Lucille Pugh; his brothers, Robert and James Pugh; and his sister, Alberta Pugh (Lady); and

WHEREAS, Jacob Pugh leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Christine Pugh; his son, Alan Pugh; his sisters, Angeline Lashey and Dorothy Petty; and his grandson, Robert; he also leaves a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Jacob Pugh; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jacob Pugh as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
