HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Rich Rioux on his retirement from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 134; and

WHEREAS, After his graduation from West Lyden High School, Rich Rioux enlisted in the United States Marines and served a tour of duty during the Vietnam War; after being honorably discharged, he returned home and began his apprenticeship with Local 134; and

WHEREAS, He began his career as a journeyman electrician and ends it as President of Local 134; during his career he continued to support his fellow veterans and soldiers by serving as Commander of American Legion Post #769, where he raised money for soldiers injured in Iraq and Afghanistan; he also brought together members from other trades to remodel a local Iraq War veteran's home, making the home more accessible for the injured soldier; and

WHEREAS, Rich and his wife, Christine, recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary; they have two daughters, Karen and Jennifer; they are the proud grandparents of Jacob, Nolan, Sophia, and Piper; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Rich Rioux on his retirement and wish him all the best in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Rich Rioux as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
