1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor the student team from the
4 Hilel Torah Day School in Skokie for receiving second place in
5 the Stock Market Game (SMG) program during the fall 2009
6 session; and

7     WHEREAS, The Illinois Council on Economic Education (ICEE)
8 has coordinated The Stock Market Game program for Illinois
9 teachers and their students for the past 21 years, reaching
10 over 500,000 students; and

11     WHEREAS, Students who participate in The Stock Market Game
12 Program learn more than investing, they learn core academic
13 concepts and skills that can help them succeed in the classroom
14 and in life; and

15     WHEREAS, There was a large number of students participating
16 in the fall session; finishing with a top performing portfolio
17 is proof of a winning team; therefore, be it

18     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
19 NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
20 congratulate the team from Hillel Torah Day School in Skokie on
21 their wonderful performances during The Stock Market Game

2     RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
3 presented to the students of Hillel Torah Day School as a
4 symbol of our respect.
