HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Dolores E. Bell on
4 her 90th birthday, December 4, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Dolores E. Mancilla was born on December 4, 1919
6 in Wichita, Kansas; her father was from Mexico and her mother
7 was of Irish descent and from Oklahoma; she lived in Oklahoma
8 and West Chicago as a child and also lived with her father, her
9 sister, and her two brothers in the Eola boxcars when her
10 father came to Aurora to work for the Burlington railroad; and
 
11     WHEREAS, She attended Oak Park grade school, East Aurora
12 High School, and Waubonsee Community College in her 60s, where
13 she took classes in auto mechanics, dancing, and piano; and
 
14     WHEREAS, She proudly flies the American Flag in front of
15 her home at Kane and East Avenue, where she has lived for
16 almost 60 years; and
 
17     WHEREAS, During World War II she worked for the war effort
18 packing parachutes for parachute flares in Montgomery; she
19 worked in soap processing at Armour Dial and retired in 1986;
20 and

1     WHEREAS, Dolores was married to John A. Bell, the love of
2 her life, until his passing in 1982; she is the mother of 9,
3 the grandmother of 33 grandchildren and step-grandchildren,
4 and the great-grandmother of 10; therefore, be it
 
5     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
6 NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
7 congratulate Dolores Bell on this momentous occasion and wish
8 her good health and happiness for years to come; and be it
9 further
 
10     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11 presented to Dolores Bell as a symbol of our respect and
12 esteem.
