HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of Toastmasters International District 30 on the occasion of the commencement of the District's 2009 Fall Conference; and

WHEREAS, Toastmasters International is the leading movement devoted to making effective communication a worldwide reality; through its member Clubs, Toastmasters International helps men and women learn the arts of speaking, listening, and thinking, which are critical skills in an ever-changing world; and

WHEREAS, The mission of a Toastmasters Club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which, in turn, foster self-confidence and personal growth; The District's mission is to enhance the performance and extend the network of Clubs, thereby offering greater numbers of people the opportunity to benefit from the Toastmasters educational program; and

WHEREAS, The members of Toastmasters International District 30 will hold their annual Fall Conference on November 13-14, 2009, at the Holiday Inn Chicago North Shore in Skokie; and

WHEREAS, Toastmasters International and its numerous member Clubs provide an invaluable service to the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members of Toastmasters International District 30 on the occasion of the commencement of the District's 2009 Fall Conference and wish them continued success in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to Michael Gougis, District Governor of Toastmasters International District 30, and the officers and members of Toastmasters International District 30.
