HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Willard Wigan on the occasion of the upcoming exhibition of his micro art works at the Nicole Gallery in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Willard Wigan was born in Birmingham, England in 1957 and began his artistic life at a tender age; suffering from dyslexia and learning difficulties, he struggled at school; seeking to find solace from his woes, he began creating art of such minute proportions that it virtually could not be seen with the naked eye; and

WHEREAS, Willard Wigan's talents have been recognized by the world leading Technology, Entertainment, Design Institute, where Mr. Wigan was invited as a guest speaker to the world conference in July of 2009; his works have been described my many as the "Eighth Wonder of the World"; and

WHEREAS, Willard Wigan's micro-sculptures are the centerpiece of an exhibition at the Nicole Gallery in Chicago; up to 20 pieces of Mr. Wigan's art will be shown at the exhibition from September 3 through October 2, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Willard Wigan's incredible talents serve as an inspirational story of triumphing over adversity; Mr. Wigan serves as a role model to countless young artists throughout the world; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Willard Wigan on the occasion of the upcoming exhibition of his micro art works and wish continued success in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Willard Wigan as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
