HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of Plumbers and Gasfitters U.A. Local 360 in Collinsville on the occasion of the local's 100th anniversary on June 19, 2009; and

WHEREAS, The Plumbers and Gasfitters Local 360 started with a handful of members in East St. Louis on June 19, 1909; around 15 years ago, the group moved its headquarters to Collinsville, where the local currently resides; and

WHEREAS, The Plumbers and Gasfitters Local 360 has grown from its humble roots into a strong organization of 230 members from St. Clair and Madison Counties; and

WHEREAS, In addition to providing a strong voice for their members and ensuring that they receive fair wages and benefits, the Plumbers and Gasfitters Local 360 also provides support to several charity organizations, including the Shriners, the Salvation Army, and the Special Olympics; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Plumbers and Gasfitters Local 360 serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members of Plumbers and Gasfitters U.A. Local 360 in Collinsville on the occasion of the local's 100th anniversary and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to a representative of the Plumbers and Gasfitters Local 360 as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
