HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Donn Schaefer as he retires as President of the Metro East Landlords Association; and

WHEREAS, All communities of the State of Illinois need good, clean, and affordable housing in all levels of society; and

WHEREAS, Housing is a need for all members of our society; and

WHEREAS, Donn Schaefer has served as President of the Metro East Landlords Association for fifteen years, from April of 1994 to April of 2009; and

WHEREAS, Metro East Landlords Association (now known as the Metro East Real Estate Investors Association) is a volunteer led non-profit educational organization devoted to the education, improvement, and ethical practices associated with all aspects of landlording and real estate investing; and

WHEREAS, With foresight, integrity, perseverance, and selfless dedication during his fifteen year tenure as president, Donn Schaefer has led the organization from a small group of ten members into being the largest real estate investment association in the State of Illinois, with now over 550 members; he has been responsible for educating many people on the rights and responsibilities of ethical landlording and real estate investing; he has also actively and tirelessly championed the rights of both landlords and tenants, locally, regionally, and nationally; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Donn Schaefer on his retirement as President of the Metro East Landlords Association and wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Donn Schaefer as a symbol of our respect.
