HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, Former First Lady Patricia Blagojevich introduced
3 the Wildflowers for Illinois program in 2003 as part of a
4 larger State Beautification Initiative; and
 
5     WHEREAS, The multi-million dollar program included
6 road-side signage crediting the former First Lady; and
 
7     WHEREAS, In January of 2009, Governor Blagojevich was
8 impeached and removed from office; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Immediately upon his removal from office, the
10 State of Illinois began removing his name from signs across the
11 State; therefore, be it
 
12     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
13 NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
14 urge the Illinois Department of Transportation to remove all
15 signs bearing the name of Patricia Blagojevich from the
16 road-sides of this State over the next year; and be it further
 
17     RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be given
18 to the Office of the Governor and the Secretary of the Illinois
19 Department of Transportation.
