| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | | 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to congratulate Scott Schaper of | | 4 |
| Boy Scout Troop 78 in Lincolnshire for receiving the coveted | | 5 |
| title of Eagle Scout; and
| | 6 |
| WHEREAS, Scott Schaper is an 18-year-old senior at Adlai E. | | 7 |
| Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire; he is active in numerous | | 8 |
| programs at his school, including Peer Helpers, National Honor | | 9 |
| Society, Truth Seekers, the Interactive Gamers Club, and the | | 10 |
| Student Orchestra Board; and
| | 11 |
| WHEREAS, Scott Schaper has received math and science honors | | 12 |
| each year; he received the Outstanding Physics Student of the | | 13 |
| Year Award from the American Association of Physics Teachers | | 14 |
| during his junior year of high school; and
| | 15 |
| WHEREAS, Scott Schaper serves as a volunteer with the | | 16 |
| Waukegan Community Meals Program and plays an active role at | | 17 |
| his church, St. Gregory Episcopal Church in Deerfield, as an | | 18 |
| acolyte, Lay Eucharistic Minister, and reader; and
| | 19 |
| WHEREAS, Scott Schaper has earned numerous merit badges for | | 20 |
| his work in the Scouts, including the Camping, Citizenship in | | 21 |
| the Community, Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in the |

| World, Communications, Lifesaving, Environmental Science, | | 2 |
| First Aid, Swimming, Personal Management, Personal Fitness, | | 3 |
| Family Life, Archery, Art, Basketry, Canoeing, Fire Safety, | | 4 |
| Fishing, Leatherwork, Metalwork, Small Boat Sailing, | | 5 |
| Salesmanship, Rowing, and Pioneering Badges; and
| | 6 |
| WHEREAS, Scott Schaper earned the Arrow of Light Award as a | | 7 |
| Webelos Scout and as a Boy Scout; he was a Den Chief of 2 years | | 8 |
| and served as a Patrol Leader and a Troop Guide; and
| | 9 |
| WHEREAS, Scott Schaper's parents, David (also an Eagle | | 10 |
| Scout) and Barbara Schaper, and his older brother, Matthew, are | | 11 |
| undoubtedly proud of his achievement; and
| | 12 |
| WHEREAS, Scott Schaper's paternal grandfather and uncle | | 13 |
| also achieved the honor of Eagle Scout; therefore, be it
| | 14 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | | 15 |
| NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | | 16 |
| congratulate Scott Schaper for receiving the coveted title of | | 17 |
| Eagle Scout and wish him continued success and happiness in the | | 18 |
| future; and be it further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | | 20 |
| presented to Scott Schaper as a symbol of our respect and | | 21 |
| esteem.
