HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The Network of Care website is a highly
3 interactive, single information place where consumers,
4 community-based organizations, and municipal government
5 workers all can go to easily access a wide variety of important
6 information; and
 
7     WHEREAS, The resources of this "virtual community" include
8 a fast, comprehensive service directory; links to pertinent
9 websites from across the nation; a comprehensive, easy-to-use
10 library; a political advocacy tool; community message boards;
11 and many other resources; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Network of Care eLearning is an online education
13 resource for government agencies as well as the general public;
14 and
 
15     WHEREAS, States and counties can manage their employee
16 training and development process of both online and classroom
17 courses, while the general public may access an extensive
18 catalog of online courses; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Illinois is currently a part of the Network of
20 Care in the area of mental and behavioral health; and

1     WHEREAS, Illinois is not part of the of the Network of Care
2 in the areas of Seniors and people with Disabilities, Children
3 and Families, Developmental Disabilities, Public Health, and
4 Veterans and Service members; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Joining these areas of the Network of Care webpage
6 would provided information and access to Illinois residents
7 seeking information; therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9 NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
10 urge Governor Pat Quinn to make Illinois part of the Network of
11 Care in all areas provided by the Network of Care website; and
12 be it further
 
13     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented Governor Pat Quinn.
