HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The Network of Care website is a highly interactive, single information place where consumers, community-based organizations, and municipal government workers all can go to easily access a wide variety of important information; and

WHEREAS, The resources of this "virtual community" include a fast, comprehensive service directory; links to pertinent websites from across the nation; a comprehensive, easy-to-use library; a political advocacy tool; community message boards; and many other resources; and

WHEREAS, Network of Care eLearning is an online education resource for government agencies as well as the general public; and

WHEREAS, States and counties can manage their employee training and development process of both online and classroom courses, while the general public may access an extensive catalog of online courses; and

WHEREAS, Illinois is currently a part of the Network of Care in the area of mental and behavioral health; and

WHEREAS, Illinois is not part of the of the Network of Care in the areas of Seniors and people with Disabilities, Children and Families, Developmental Disabilities, Public Health, and Veterans and Service members; and

WHEREAS, Joining these areas of the Network of Care webpage would provided information and access to Illinois residents seeking information; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we urge Governor Pat Quinn to make Illinois part of the Network of Care in all areas provided by the Network of Care website; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented Governor Pat Quinn.
