HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Eugene Jones, who passed away on April 9, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Eugene Jones joined the United States Army on September 15, 1958; during basic training, he became a 1st and 2nd Class Gunner and a Sharpshooter; while serving in Germany as a Specialist 4, he was injured in the line of duty; he received an honorable discharge from the military on May 9, 1961; and

WHEREAS, Eugene Jones earned his GED while serving in Germany; and

WHEREAS, Eugene Jones was employed with the Cook County Department of Corrections from 1970 until his retirement in 1992; and

WHEREAS, Eugene Jones is survived by his wife, Marsha F. Jones; his children, Kym, Kelly, George, and Percy; his 22 grandchildren; and his 10 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Eugene Jones; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Eugene Jones as an expression of our sympathy.
