HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to recognize Bandit, a member of the K-9 response team, with the Warrenville Police Department, on his retirement on June 5, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Bandit started on the streets on May 1, 2002; during his years of service he placed second 4 times in yearly certification events; and

WHEREAS, Bandit searched buildings, cars, and individuals in the search for drugs, counting over 800 such searches during his career; and

WHEREAS, Bandit located over two pounds of marijuana, one kilo of cocaine/crack, and a dozen ecstasy pills; he was responsible for over 12 suspect captures in Warrenville and surrounding communities; and

WHEREAS, Bandit has received numerous departmental citations for his hard work and was recognized by the 416th Theater Engineer Command of the United States Army for his efforts; and

WHEREAS, Bandit, along with his partner, Corporal Komar, are the founding members of the F.I.A.T. K-9 response team; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Bandit on a job well done, for his years of successful police work, and for being an asset to the community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Corporal Komar on the behalf of Bandit, as a symbol of our respect.
