Amends the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the definition of "developmental disability".

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Code is amended by changing Section 1-106 as follows:

(405 ILCS 5/1-106) (from Ch. 91 1/2, par. 1-106)

Sec. 1-106. "Developmental disability" means a disability which is attributable to: (a) mental retardation, cerebral palsy, epilepsy or autism; or to (b) any other condition which results in impairment similar to that that caused by mental retardation and which requires services similar to those required by mentally retarded persons. Such disability must originate before the age of 18 years, be expected to continue indefinitely, and constitute a substantial handicap.
